FÖTUS was a cybertech brand founded by Masahiro Saito in Tokyo in 1997, known for its bold, futuristic designs inspired by the club and rave scenes, utilizing bright colors and synthetic fabrics like nylon and polyester. The brand significantly influenced the Japanese trance scene and even released a psychedelic album during the 90s, deeply intertwining with underground DJ culture. Originally named "Saito Fotus" as a nod to the British spelling of "fetus," FÖTUS struggled to expand beyond its niche market and ended up closing down in 2007.
